Gastronomy Plus buys British pizza oven business

Gastronomy Plus has added another brand to its portfolio after completing the acquisition of DeliVita, a British manufacturer of outdoor gas and wood-fired pizza ovens.

The company, which already owns the Sous Vide Tools, Bertha and Kasai brands, will use the deal to strengthen its presence in the home cooking and commercial catering markets.

Crafted in Yorkshire but inspired by the flavours of Italy, DeliVita ovens come with five-year warranty and up to now have been available through the company’s website and retailers such as John Lewis and Harrods.

The company has a range of catering vehicles that it uses to service authentic Italian pizzas and cuisines at private events.

Alex Shannon, managing director of Gastronomy Plus, said the takeover would help solidify its position as a supplier of wood and charcoal-fired gear for both the retail and foodservice sectors.

“We’re thrilled to welcome DeliVita to our family, enhancing our outdoor cooking equipment range,” he added. “With DeliVita’s strong retail presence and our expertise in the foodservice sector, we’re poised to spread the joy of DeliVita ovens to restaurants, pubs, and hotels nationwide and beyond.”

Mr Shannon said it would be a case of ‘business as usual’ following the transaction, with orders orders able to be placed seamlessly and no disruptions to deliveries.

Joe Formisano, founder of the DeliVita brand and company, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for DeliVita, and we are thrilled to be part of the Gastronomy Plus family. This partnership will allow us to expand our reach and amplify our joint impact in the culinary world.

“We eagerly anticipate the collaborative ventures ahead, fuelled by shared innovation and passion for outdoor cooking excellence.”
